Linda, we're having similar issues with our mortgage company. This is a huge land/money grab and sadly many of us will lose our homes, credit ratings, ability to find a job behind the credit rating issues, ability to find ANY housing behind all of it.

If someone reports a break in - the police will not only ask for your id if you say you are the owner of the home- they will also ask you to come outside and make sure you are safe and not in danger from someone they can't see immediately through a doorway. Common sense no matter who you are.

They spent all of the money at the top for the banks and insurance companies. They're too big to fail. By doing things the way they did, they weighted the balance for banks so that there is no incentive to do anything but keep their hands out for more.

Darrell- the adjustable rate loans resetting (they won't actually go higher because interest rates are so low - it's based on the libor or they will go up marginally) aren't the problem. If you have a job then the programs will make it possible to refinance for a FEW people.

We tow our boat nearly every weekend and sometimes during the week. We haul feed, bedding for animals and there are more than just two of us. We do consolidate trips to the store as much as possible.

JB - we did start to hear about the homeless, hungry and foreclosures and the administration complained about 'fearmongering' making this entire situation worse. Within HOURS those stories vanished from MSNBC and we've gotten nothing but 'green shoots' ever since.

KrisT - HANG IN THERE! We're in the same boat and we're running out of things to sell too. The only reason we're not in foreclosure is because the bank is so buried with foreclosures - they haven't gotten to us yet.

This equates much more closely to two 5 year olds playing doctor, not a pedophile and a 5 year old. Absolutely this poor 18 year old needs more supervision and the child may benefit from some professional help but a prison sentence serves no benefit in this case.
